Leilani Ford Chavez is originally from Oakland, CA. She grew up in a close knit family where she learned to value familial relationships. With family ties to Texas and Louisiana, her Southern roots can be felt in her warm and hospitable approach.
She obtained her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. During her studies at CSU, Long Beach, she held various leadership positions, traveled to South Africa on a medicine mission, and even published a research paper entitled, "Don't Test My Manhood: Help Seeking Behavior in African American Males." She received her Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary's University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. There she learned counseling and family system theories. She later went on to teach in the undergraduate and graduate program. Leilani uses the principles she learned to help married (and engaged) couples gain the tools they need to heal and strengthen their marriage.
Leilani has worked with inner city youth for over 10 years; she has both taught and counseled them. While working with youth, she realized the importance of strengthening the family unit. Leilani begun instructing parents on how to engage with their children in a healthy manner. Her passion for youth drives her to do all that she can to inform, encourage, and support parents in an effort to create the type of family that each youth needs to develop in a healthy and productive manner.
Leilani has been married to her husband for seven years, and in 2016 became a mommy to a beautiful little boy. Her style is warm, funny, passionate and honest. She has a heart to see every person connect to God and build real intimate connections with each other. She knows the importance of healthy relationships and wants to help you develop healthy relationships in your life.
